Sinead O’Connor speaks out on abuse.

Please allow me to express my astonishment upon reading the statement made on the evening of March 1st by the bishop of Ferns, Denis Brennan.

His statement attempts to dictate to us in the same way the inquisition did, how Christians should behave. Saying directly that it would be anti-christian of us to feel the church should pay its own bills for its own abuse with its own billions which it throttled from our grandparents, whom they also abused, physically, emotionally, psychologically and sexually.

Evidence of sexual abuse by clergy, according to the Murphy report, can be traced as far back as 320 a.d. and the first treatment centres for paedophile priests were created in 1940, named servants of the Paracletes. These centres were opened all over the world.

I would like to know exactly whose idea this plan was, and from where were issued the instructions or permission to make such a statement.

The statement and its attempted manipulation of good catholic people could be described as unbelievable, stupid, comical. But in my opinion the only word that does it justice is evil.

How long do they expect us to restrain ourselves?

We have put up with this bull dung for hundreds of years.

A true Christian is someone who, in any given situation is supposed to ask themselves what would Jesus do, and try to do that.

How an organisation which has acted decade after decade only to protect its business interests above the interests of children, can feel it has the right to dictate to us what christian should do is beyond belief.

From the Pope on down through the Vatican and through therefore, the lower echelons, the whole organisation in my belief is in fact utterly anti-christian. And evil. As proven by centuries of torture, bloodshed, burnings, terrorism, and coverings up of “the worst crime” known to man – child abuse.

And if Jesus Christ is to be seen in the vulnerable of this world then all they have done is crucify the man over and over and over again.

If Christ was here, he would be burning down the Vatican. And I for one would be helping him.

Dear Sir,

On behalf of all Irish artists – though most have kept their mouth shut – I demand the Irish government expel the papal nuncio and recall the Irish ambassador from the Vatican city in order to respect the people of Ireland, who are outraged by the contempt displayed by the Vatican for the suffering endured by survivors of clerical abuse and for the people of ireland in general.

I demand also the Pope himself stand down for his contemptible silence on the matter and his acts of non cooperation with the (Murphy) enquiry.

Popes have had no problem voicing their opinions when we wanted contraception or divorce. No problem criticising the Da Vinci code. No problem declaring Harry Potter books as evil. No problem criticising Naomi Campbell for wearing a bejewelled cross. Yet when it comes to the evils done by paedophiles dressed as priests they are silent. It is grotesque… unbelievable… bizarre and unprecedented. They stand for nothing now but evil. And our ancestors gave up anything that would have given them a moments joy. Because they believed these liars.

They have brought Catholicism and the idea of God into disrepute. We need to take back the church. Which is OURS. Not theirs. They are not fit to call themselves representatives of Christ. They represent nothing but evil any more.

They never believed that God was watching. And they still act as though they don't think God is watching. But every one of them will have to meet their maker in the end. Even the Pope himself. And if I were them, I would be very afraid.

I also demand that Brian Cowan step down for his having no testicles in the matter. He has no clue what Irish people want. He should stand down and admit he has behaved in this matter as a coward.

Blasphemie in Ireland

The research about Bally works slowly. Some liars trying to get popular with him. To many rainy summernights washing history away. I have to sort it out. And well, right....New rules which forbid causing 'outrage' among religious people have baffled Ireland. Ian O'Dohertys quote:

"So, we're now officially the most religiously deranged country in the civilised world.

Now that blasphemous libel has been introduced to the statue books, it will be a crime to have a pop at religions.

Hi! Sorry for this long break...but I spend my spare time with a lovely couple: Carry Cattle and Gary Crunk.....

Shame on Bally?

It´s very stormy in Ballydehob!

The floodlight of the FastnetLighthouse still highlights my imagination, for the cause to be a shadow of one´s former self . I try to collect material from my research into Bally. I try to recognize, to realize his behaviour: Why me??? I try to find a main research. Don´t missunderstand me. I love Bally, but I know as well that I play with fire here. You learn so many things every day, and it's overwhelming sometimes trying to see how it all fits together. I'm starting to realize that every day is a different road and a variable journey, as different as day and night and you don't have to have it all figured out; you don't have to have all the answers to everything right now. I´ve dug this photo out of my relic box: I consult (I admit I smoke to much!) a former member of the Beatles (Eyes left!) who has been in contact with Bally for YEARS. I met him in his sanctuary in West Cork (restrain laughter). He told me the secret, that actually the most written lyrics came by him (not by "HIM" by Bally!). So what??? Should I believe him or not? I have to mention, that John Lennon and Paul McCarthy (someone start roaring) have written very weird lyric poetry....Should I put the blame on Bally?

I am grateful to Pat Mizenhead for allowing me to draw his mother in breed..ups!..(Sorry for this clerical error)...in law. For sure on a later stage!!
